The B.R.E.A.D. Covenant
Mission of BREAD: draw upon the strength of people of
faith to act on issues of justice and fairness in the Greater Columbus area.
The Covenant
______________________________(name of the
congregation/organization), enters into a covenant with the B.R.E.A.D. organization for
the purpose of more successfully practicing our values in the world. We support the goals
of B.R.E.A.D. and understand our specific commitment to be as follows:
1. Form a B.R.E.A.D. Team in our congregation for the
purpose of strengthening our ministries with our members and our community.
2. Involve a broad representation of our congregation in a
process of building relationships, making commitments, investigating issues, training
leaders and active involvement in the issues which affect them and the community.
3. Select one (1) representative and one (1) alternate to
the Board of Directors of the organization.
4. To invest in the financial stability of B.R.E.A.D.
through the payment of regular dues and involvement in B.R.E.A.D. fundraising events.
5. Support the efforts of each of the other member groups
on issues which affect the quality of their lives and work with them on issues of common
interest.
6. To work for the common good on issues selected by the
B.R.E.A.D. Team Assembly or Annual Assembly.

Dues Schedule
If membership is two hundred or less, your dues payment is
$600 per year. If membership is more than two hundred, your dues payment is $600 plus one
dollar per member. For example, a congregation with four hundred members would pay $600 +
$400 for a total of $1,000 for the year.
In any case, congregations are encouraged and challenged to
meet or exceed their financial investment in B.R.E.A.D. from the previous year.
Additionally, any congregation which finds this schedule a particular hardship may request
the Board for an adjustment in the schedule. |
